Packing correctly for Resava Cave makes the 45 to 60-minute guided tour much safer and more comfortable. Because the cave sits deep underground, the weather outside does not affect conditions inside. You will face high humidity and cold air from the moment you step through the entrance.

What is the temperature inside Resava Cave?

The internal temperature remains a constant 7°C (45°F) year-round.

The humidity levels are extremely high, usually ranging between 80% and 100%. This combination of cold air and moisture makes the cave feel quite chilly. You will need warm clothing regardless of the season.

What kind of shoes do I need for Resava Cave?

You must wear sturdy, non-slip walking shoes.

The designated tourist path covers 800 meters and descends 80 meters below the entrance. The concrete paths and staircases are wet and slippery because of the high humidity. Avoid sandals, high heels, or smooth-soled shoes.

You should also wear long pants to stay warm during the tour. If you forget your jacket, you can rent one at the cave entrance for 100 RSD.

What else should I pack in my bag?

Bring a small backpack with water, snacks, and cash in Serbian Dinars (RSD).

You will need cash to pay for your tickets, which cost between 500 and 700 RSD for adults. Cash is also useful for nearby traditional restaurants. Pack a water bottle for hydration before or after the tour. Snacks are useful if you plan to visit nearby waterfalls.
